Wisdom Stimulus Speaking Tour in India

Sri Joydip Speaking in Dhruva School of Management , Hyderabad on Wisdom Stimulus

Sri Joydip speaks at the Dhruva School of Management, Hyderabad, on Wisdom Stimulus.

On the surface, neither his book, ‘Wisdom Stimulus: Application of Bhagvad Gita in Self Management,’ nor his movie entitled ‘Bandematram 2010’ seem to have much to do with business. However, management guru, Sri Joydip, sees an important connection between the spiritual and the business world. In his book, he writes about what the knowledge of the Bhagvad Gita means for leaders.

Especially in today’s economy, where having good people who are self-organised and productive is so important, CEOs, managers, and supervisors would do well to understand why this book and movie have struck such a chord with readers and viewers alike.

Sri Joydip examines the connection between the spiritual text and the realities of the business world, and gives those in positions of leadership practical tips for applying the message of the Bhagvad Gita to self organization, as well as to handling disruptions, managing human relations and even preventing lawsuits.

After releasing the first book in his Wisdom Stimulus series at the Kolkata Book Fair on 2nd February, 2011, Sri Joydip was invited for a speaking tour covering seven states around India. In the past year, he has visited Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, where he delivered speeches on the connection between spirituality and management in the ten cities of Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai, Pondicherry, Bangalore, Guntur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata.

Sri Joydip speaks at the Taj Lucknow on organisational leadership and spirituality

Speaking at the national seminar on ‘Organizational leadership and Spirituality’ at the Taj Lucknow, which was organised by Motilal Rastogi School of Management on the 18th of February, 2011, Sri Joydip re-emphasized this same connection for solving problems related to corporate governance, an issue that is very topical in the light of the severe corruption crisis our country is facing today.

In responses to questions from the Lucknow press, Sri Joydip suggested rehabilitation training programmes in line with the applications of the Bhagvad Gita in management that are discussed in his book, in order to develop a self-correction mechanism for failures related to governance and corruption.

While speaking in Bangalore, Karnataka, at the CMRIT auditorium on the 3rd of March, 2011, Sri Joydip asked the management students belonging to the CMR group of institutions to follow preventive management practices. Elaborating on this topic further in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, on the next day, Sri Joydip explained to the management students of Mahatma Gandhi College how preventive management can build holistic businesses – a topic that is also discussed in his book on Wisdom Stimulus – which evaluate performance in terms of the social and environmental bottom-line, apart from, of course, the economic bottom-line.

Inaugurating the Alumni Meet of the Dhruva School of Management in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh on the 5th of March, 2011, Sri Joydip spoke about Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Guru Sishya Parampara as examples of the achievement of the perfect human relationship.  His second book in his Wisdom Stimulus series, which was released by Lulu Publishers Inc. on 2nd March, 2011, is entitled ‘Wisdom Stimulus: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: Application of Bhagvad Gita in Human Relationship Management’.

Top 10 Principles of Success from Bhagvad Gita

Sri Krishna in Bhagvad Gita,  advises Arjuna on the principles of success . However , the advise is scattered all through the 18 chapter and 701 verses . In the list below , I have tried to bring a brief and concise  description of those advise, in 10 well articulate bullet points.

icon Knowledge Point 1 : Actions are the cause , results are the effect.

icon Knowledge Point 2 : Focusing on the cause is the right way to bring proper effects.

icon Knowledge Point 3 : Desire are the greatest obstacles for success in any field as it makes us to focus on effects and not on cause.

icon Knowledge Point 4 :When the focus is on effects and not on cause the energy crucial for success is lost.

icon Knowledge Point 5 :One who remains in equanimity both in success and failure has higher chance of success , as he can bear the failure.

icon Knowledge Point 6 : People who had been very successful , has crossed more failures, than the people who had lesser success.

icon Knowledge Point 7 : One must carry his action, according to his swadharma ( his inherent tendencies) without slightest concern of success and failure.

icon Knowledge Point 8 : The material success is a passing away phenomenon, as any success which is related to the world, passes away . It is only spiritual success, that is lasting and would remain life after life.

icon Knowledge Point 9 : Living the life according to eternal principles (Dharma), helps one to taste permanent success.

icon Knowledge Point 10 : The greatest success is wining the mind . Even one who have conquered the whole world , cannot stand against a man, who has conquered his mind . That’s how Alexander wined the whole world , but fail  to stand against Dandamis a Indian Holy man ,who has conquered his mind.

5 Qualities of an Enlightened Manager

In the Bhagvad Gita, Sri Krishna is a symbol of equanimity and reflects the essential characteristics of a self realised person. He is unaffected by duality, remaining constantly in the consciousness of oneness, yet is involved in all sorts of activities in everyday, worldly life.

Can a manager ever aspire to reach this state?

Why not?

Why shouldn’t we take such a figure as a role model for management, and try to ascertain from his behaviour what would be the qualities of an enlightened managerial leader?

The following are 5 qualities of enlightened managerial leadership, which we would do well to aspire to incorporate in our own characters –

Quality 1: Connection to the soul and expression of the soul in all one’s actions.

Quality 2: Comprehension of  knowledge beyond the sense organs, thus bringing a rare form of objectivity to action.

Quality 3: Friendliness to the whole world and noticeable spiritual development, even as one progresses in one’s career in management.

Quality 4: Expansion of consciousness and increased connection to the world. One starts seeing the world as an expression of spirit.

Quality 5: Remaining in oneness though one might be engaged in a wide range of worldly activities.

To know more about enlightened leadership, join the Wisdom Stimulus course, which can be viewed every day from 8:30 to 9:30 pm IST at http://www.wiziq.com/ You can also watch previous videos of the course at http://www.youtube.com/Allindialive .
