Wisdom Stimulus Speaking Tour in India
Sri Joydip speaks at the Dhruva School of Management, Hyderabad, on Wisdom Stimulus.
On the surface, neither his book, ‘Wisdom Stimulus: Application of Bhagvad Gita in Self Management,’ nor his movie entitled ‘Bandematram 2010’ seem to have much to do with business. However, spiritual guru, Sri Joydip, sees an important connection between the spiritual and the business world. In his book, he writes about what the knowledge of the Bhagvad Gita means for leaders.
Especially in today’s economy, where having good people who are self-organised and productive is so important, CEOs, managers, and supervisors would do well to understand why this book and movie have struck such a chord with readers and viewers alike.
Sri Joydip examines the connection between the spiritual text and the realities of the business world, and gives those in positions of leadership practical tips for applying the message of the Bhagvad Gita to self organization, as well as to handling disruptions, managing human relations and even preventing lawsuits.
After releasing the first book in his Wisdom Stimulus series at the Kolkata Book Fair on 2nd February, 2011, Sri Joydip was invited for a speaking tour covering seven states around India. In the past year, he has visited Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, where he delivered speeches on the connection between spirituality and management in the ten cities of Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai, Pondicherry, Bangalore, Guntur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata.
Speaking at the national seminar on ‘Organizational leadership and Spirituality’ at the Taj Lucknow, which was organised by Motilal Rastogi School of Management on the 18th of February, 2011, Sri Joydip re-emphasized this same connection for solving problems related to corporate governance, an issue that is very topical in the light of the severe corruption crisis our country is facing today.
In responses to questions from the Lucknow press, Sri Joydip suggested rehabilitation training programmes in line with the applications of the Bhagvad Gita in management that are discussed in his book, in order to develop a self-correction mechanism for failures related to governance and corruption.
While speaking in Bangalore, Karnataka, at the CMRIT auditorium on the 3rd of March, 2011, Sri Joydip asked the management students belonging to the CMR group of institutions to follow preventive management practices. Elaborating on this topic further in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, on the next day, Sri Joydip explained to the management students of Mahatma Gandhi College how preventive management can build holistic businesses – a topic that is also discussed in his book on Wisdom Stimulus – which evaluate performance in terms of the social and environmental bottom-line, apart from, of course, the economic bottom-line.
Inaugurating the Alumni Meet of the Dhruva School of Management in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh on the 5th of March, 2011, Sri Joydip spoke about Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Guru Sishya Parampara as examples of the achievement of the perfect human relationship. His second book in his Wisdom Stimulus series, which was released by Lulu Publishers Inc. on 2nd March, 2011, is entitled ‘Wisdom Stimulus: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: Application of Bhagvad Gita in Human Relationship Management’.
